Kaweh Modiri (1982) is a Dutch filmmaker and writer of Iranian descent. In 2010 he graduated from the Image & Language Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. His graduation film “My burglar and I” is a true story about an artist who stalks his burglar over a period of a year and proclaims him to be the protagonist of his new film. The film had it’s worldwide première during the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2011 and was awarded the René Coelho Award from the Dutch Institute for Media Art. In April 2012 he published his debut novel “Mr. Sadek and Others” at publishing house Thomas Rap. The novel was on the longlist for the Academica Literature Award. Bodkin Ras, his debut feature film, was developed from a short story that he wrote after visiting Scotland and is currently in it’s editing stage.
Raymond Van De Kaaij
Raymond van der Kaaij was born and raised in the Netherlands. He studied MBA and worked as business consultant before making a 180 degrees turn and moved into production.He started Revolver Media in 2001 with the purpose to produce engaging, relevant, author-driven stories for an international audience. Raymond co-produced several European art-house movies over the course of the years as well as several shorts and documentaries. Raymond is now responsible for the overall strategy, new business, networking, innovations as well as for the feature film department.
Sohrab Bayat has studied AudioVisual at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art in Amsterdam and obtained his MA Fine art degree at Central Saint College of Art & Design in London. He has been working with Kaweh Modiri on previous projects such as Modiri’s previous short “My Burglar and I”. After some experience behind the camera on various jobs, Sohrab took on the title role in Kaweh Modiri’s first feature film.
